May 23, 2004 | Bunton spices up Big Buzz |
-- [Thanks to Robert for posting]
EX-SPICE Girl Emma Bunton will headline a free concert being staged in North Wales this summer. The blonde singer, better known as Baby Spice, is lined up to appear at BBC Radio Wales' Big Buzz concert on Sunday, July 25.

The show, being held at the Slate Quay, marks the finale of this year's Gæyl Caernarfon Festival. Emma Bunton has been one of the more successful solo members of Britain's most successful girl group.

She has enjoyed hits with What Took You So Long, Free Me, I'll Be There and Maybe. The show will be presented by BBC Radio Wales presenters.

It is the first time the BBC's annual Big Buzz concert has been held outside South Wales. Shows staged in Cardiff and Swansea in front of crowds of thousands have attracted stars such as Marc Almond, Lulu, Sinead Quinn, Blazin' Squad and D-Side.

BBC Radio Wales events producer Paul Forde said: "The event has been such a huge success in Cardiff and Swansea over the last two years we thought the rest of Wales should experience the Big Buzz." Gwynedd events commissioner Huw Edwin Jones said: "Obvi-ously we are excited by it all. It is another high-profile event happening in Gwynedd.

"Hopefully by attracting the Big Buzz, the BBC will develop relationships towards the future, bringing more similar events to the area. "Our work is about building relationships with people and that cannot be done overnight. It is an ongoing process."

Gæyl Caernarfon chairman Glyn Dickinson said: "Radio Wales' Big Buzz has been extremely popular in Swansea and Cardiff and it is a great honour for Caernarfon to be hosts this year. "Gæyl Caernarfon will be organising a Battle of the Bands competition throughout the festival week for local talent and the winners will be able to perform with the headline acts on Sunday."

The festival week will run from July 17-25. There will be free entertainment on the Maes through-out the week. * Local bands wanting to perform alongside Emma Bunton can e-mail their details to caernarfon.festival@btinternet.com

May 19, 2004 | Hi From Emma (New diary entry) |
-- [From Emma Bunton Official]
Hi from Emma - 14th May 2004
Hi everybody,
Hope you’re all really well and loving the sunshine – summer’s here at last! Well, after a fabulous three weeks off at the end of March, I’m now back in the swing with lots of interviews and performances for ‘Crickets Sing’ – so, as usual, it’s been mad but brilliant.

Hope you’re loving the new single – it’s so different isn’t it? And just you wait till you hear the other Brazilian sounding tracks I’ve recorded. So exciting! I recently performed at the ‘19 Years of 19 Management’ party in the Royal Albert Hall – they’re the guys who look after me!! Everyone was there from Rachel Stevens to S Club 8 to Annie Lennox to my writing chum, Cathy Dennis.

I sang ‘Free Me’ and ‘Maybe’ (complete with the whole dance routine!) and then a duet with my pal Will Young. Us two actually ended up sharing a dressing room and we just spent all day messing about and singing at the top of our voices – it was a blast! I loved every minute!! Keep an eye out for me over the coming weeks, can’t wait to catch up! And finally and most importantly, thanks again for all your fantastic support – you guys are awesome!!

Lots of love
Emma x

May 06, 2004 | Jade makes Baby sparkle |
-- [From The Sun]
EMMA BUNTON was glowing when she stepped out in a sexy top for a night on the razz. And I know why she’s so happy – the former Baby Spice confirmed she is back with her ex, DAMAGE singer JADE JONES.

Last week I hinted their relationship was back on after they were snapped shopping together ... and I was right. Emma says: “We’re taking things slowly this time. I’m very happy.”

Emma was at the 10th anniversary party for gay magazine Attitude at London’s Atlantic bar. The bash attracted an all-star turn-out including ELTON JOHN and GEORGE MICHAEL. Just as well Emma’s back with Jade – she had no chance of scoring on Wednesday night.

On 31st May, Emma releases the fourth single from her highly acclaimed album, Free Me. Already an album favourite, ‘Crickets Sing For Anamaria’ continues her exploration of ‘60s sounds but this time Emma experiments with a cool and summery south American vibe.

The single will arrive with two remixes as well as two brand new tracks, Emma’s versions of Paul Anka’s ‘Eso Beso’ and Astrud Gilberto’s ‘So Nice (Summer Samba)’. We’ll bring you format details as soon as they are confirmed.

The video took from six in the morning till midnight to shoot and sees Emma starring alongside a sexy love interest, loads of children, a chicken and even a Jack Russell puppy!
