May 29 2003 | Emma To Star In Ab Fab | -- [ From Emma Generation ]
Emma Bunton has landed a part in Absolutely Fabulous, which is, um, absolutely fabulous news.
Self-confessed Ab Fab nut Emma will film a cameo part for the new series next week.
The former Baby Spice, who shows off her svelte curves in my exclusive picture, is beside herself with excitement.
She says she can’t wait to star alongside her comedy heroines Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.
Emma has remained good pals with both women since the Spice Girls performed with them on the Comic Relief single Who Do You Think You Are? six years ago.
Emma, who is set to go into the top five this Sunday with her comeback single Free Me, will play herself in Ab Fab.

May 23 2003 | Emma Bunton Tops It with Justin | -- [ From Emma Generation ]
Emma Bunton was seen wearing a Justin Timberlake t-shirt backstage during rehearsals for her performance at Prince's Trust Polo Concert.
Lately, Justin and Emma were spotted sharing an intimate kiss and hug greeting at the opening of the Rex club in London last Thursday. When asked about her relationship with Justin, Emma says, "We're just good friends", while Justin said earlier this week "Emma's really gorgeous. We've been together".
Thanks Matan

May 23 2003 | New Article: Baby Engages In Damage Limitation | -- [ From Emma Generation ]
Emma Bunton seems to be jaded after a night out on the town with her on/off/on/off boyfriend.
The artist formelly known as Baby strangely didnt want to be photgraphed with the former Damage star as they headed off to party late into the night.
Probably because it seemed she put the affair with more twists and turns then an episode of Footie Wives behind her.
But it wasnt long after Emma's 27th birthday that she was seen snogging the face of Jade at Pangaea nightclub.

May 23 2003 | New Article: Emma's Calum Best | -- [ From Emma Generation ]
Emma Bunton's developed a habit of canoodling with hunky models it seems.
Former Spice Girl Emma gets steamier than a kettle with the dishy bloke in her video Free Me - as my exclusive shot shows.
But she was seen getting rather friendly with young Calum Best at Justin's party.
When she wasn't chatting with Atomic Kitten Liz McClaron, Emma could be seen sitting on model Calum's lap. A fellow party-goer said: "I don't know if they're very good friends or there's something more to it.
But at one stage she was virtually straddling him with a great big grin on her face. She also seemed to make a point of doing a very sexy dance right in front of where he was sitting."
Calum has been linked with a string of sexy babes in the past - Emma's had Jade Jones.
May 23 2003 | Truth Behind Record Deal | -- [ From Emma Generation ]
Emma Bunton will take a huge slice of her record sales profits - after investing in herself.
The ex Spice Girl came clean about her new deal which has allowed her to mount a solo comeback after being dropped by Virgin last year.
Instead of signing up with a label, she has gone into partnership with manager Simon Fuller. She say's: "Its a three-way agreement between me, Simon and Universal."
Emma wowed fans in Manchester yesterday by performing the Spice Girl's hit 2 Become 1as well as two of her solo efforts. She said: "It was the one Spice Girls song that really was my baby."

May 17 2003 | Emma Interview with Dotmusic | -- [ From Solo Spice News ]
There have been a lot of changes in the world of Emma Bunton. First it was record labels, then it was management, and now it's her style.
New single 'Free Me' (released May 26) is a definite progression for the former Spice Girl, placing her in previously uncharted waters as a 21st century version of a 60s classy pop star.
We chatted to Emma recently about her life now, the changes that have taken place, her new working relationship with Simon Fuller and those ever present Spice Girl reunion rumours.
What have you been up to recently?
"I'm actually just coming back from holiday. It was only for three days but I've been away with my family. It was well worth it."
It's another new start for you, what's different this time round?
"I've taken a lot more time on this album. I had a year when I could chill with my family and go out with girlfriends. A lot of things changed for me - record companies, management. And during that time I really grew into a different person and you can feel that in the album. I'm 27 now; I've taken a look at myself and the things I enjoy.
"Last time I didn't have the time free to go out and do my own thing. That's inspired me to write, it's been a really lovely time and the album shows that. It's very contemporary, very 60s and very classic. There's a lot of colour in there and I'm very confident of this album."
'Free Me' has a certain Bond swagger to it...
"'Free Me' was one of those tracks that all came together in the studio, working with this guy called Mike Peden who I wrote a few tracks with. It's very sexy without being sexual and has this James Bond feel to it, I absolutely love it. Right from the start I wanted the album to sound like that and 'Free Me' is a great example. It feels very strong with the strings."
Your voice seems to suit the track well...
"Yeah, that's because I enjoyed it. Again I've had time to work on my voice, work on it and become more confident with it. I've really gone for it this time."
Is 'Free Me' a good indication of the album?
"Yes and no. The whole album has a very 60s feel as I said before. There are some amazing ballads on there like 'Something So Beautiful' which gives me goosebumps when I listen to it back. There's another track called 'Maybe' that has a real retro feel with loads of live instruments, bongos and drums."
Any lyrical themes on the album?
"Lyrically I based it on how I felt on that particular day. I like to write what people can identify with. Sometimes people tend to go off on one, I want people to relate to me. I think that's very important. I go through things that most young girls do."
Is this the most input you've had on an album?
"I've always had a huge input into the music but yes, this is the most I've been involved. I've become more confident with directing the sound of the music. That's been a gradual progress of confidence."
What do you want to achieve with this album?
"Obviously for people to enjoy it and to have a big selling album (laughs)"
How did the 19 deal come about?
"We've always been in contact with Simon (Fuller): we've always texted each other and he was very supportive of my last album. And when I went through all these changes as I mentioned earlier I wanted people around me who were confident in me and wanted to support me and give me that extra push."
"I wanted people who believed in what I did and I knew, the whole time, that Simon believed in me. It felt really natural and I knew he was the best manager around and he'd allow me to be opinionated. For me, I know exactly what I want and people get scared of that. They want to push you in the direction they want you to go in and that's not right for me. I like to think I know what my fans like and what I feel comfortable doing."
In hindsight do you think it was a mistake for the Spice Girls to split with Simon Fuller in the first place?
"What we did at the time felt right and was exactly what we wanted to do at the time. At that point we wanted to do things on our own and take it to another level. Simple as that."
The last press frenzy over the Spice Girls came after your reunion meal the Beckham residence. What really happened?
"That story got a bit out of hand. I see the girls all the time so for us it was just a case of wanting to go to dinner and have a laugh and see the kids. It was just a really friendly social gathering. We didn't all fall out. Don't believe everything you read."
So what about all those rumours of your TV work?
"I don't know how they come about, they're so untrue. I've never approached anyone or gone after the TV work they've been linking me with. I don't know what they're talking about. Obviously I'm just concentrating on the music, as the album's due out very soon. We're thinking about a tour - maybe an intimate one first and then a bigger one."
You're appearing on the bill of some pop tours soon- do you feel like an old pro now?
"That's a nice way of putting it, thanks. I think the kids out there love pop music and can get a real variation with Blazin' Squad to Sugababes. It does feel a bit weird sometimes when there are so many of them. When we were first around there were nowhere near as many groups as there are now. The kids are buying it so it's good."
What are you looking forward to this year?
"I'm doing this Nordoff Robins charity gig where I'll be doing 20 minutes so I'll be able to do some more tracks than normal. I'm looking forward to people listening to what I've been doing for the last year. I know it's been a while but I think it's been worth it."
Emma's new single 'Free Me' is released in the UK on May 26.

YOU eat what you like, you lose weight...They're the words we all want to hear.
That's how former Baby Spice Emma Bunton shed one-and-a-half stone to end up looking toned, trim and better than ever.
But before you rush off to stuff yourselves and wait for the pounds to fall off, there is the inevitable catch - exercise.
Emma, who now weighs eight-and-a-half stone, tells New Woman magazine she has been working out three times a week at a gym behind her London home.
The 5ft 5in 27-year-old says: "I've found a balance I'm happy with. I can get away with eating whatever I like.
"I'm not a wee skinny thing and I love food so I have to exercise. I never thought I'd say this but I enjoy the gym."
Emma has just returned from Rio de Janeiro where she was filming the video for her new single Free Me.
She adds: "I wanted to tone up. I didn't want to lose weight but I worked hard to get more healthy. I enjoyed it so I've carried on.
"I'm still curvy and that's important. Men like it when a girl's curvy."
Emma, who was ditched by Virgin last year, is relaunching her solo career. Free Me is out on May 26.
HOW SHE DOES IT
I CRANK the music up and warm up for five to 10 minutes stretching out my arms and legs.
I'LL go on the running machine for 20 to 30 minutes, which I've built up from 10. But some days I do less - you shouldn't push yourself if it's painful.
I always stretch out my calves afterwards otherwise it's murder the next day.
THEN I go on to the bike for 10 minutes on a manual setting. I'm breaking a bit of a sweat by now. I prefer biking to the rowing machine.
NEXT I move to the floor for 30 straight sit-ups and 30 side ones. Maybe once a week I'll do some handweight work, too - I use the smallest dumb-bells as I don't want my arm muscles bulking up. I do three sets of 10 repetitions.
AFTER a final stretch out, that's it! I've found a balance I'm happy with and I can eat whatever I want.

May 05 2003 | Its Good Nudes For Emma Fans |
MY, MY – look how EMMA BUNTON has grown. Baby Spice used to be famous for her pigtails and checked dresses, but here’s the latest snap showing how she’s blossomed.
Posing in, well, basically just a pair of pants, she is preparing for a second stab at a solo career since being dropped by record label Virgin last year.
And I’m raising a glass to Emma, who hasn’t felt the need to go down the “lollipop-head” route like skinny CALISTA FLOCKHART and RENEE ZELLWEGER.
She has a great, curvy figure and doesn’t bother starving herself with silly diets.
Emma is showcasing some of her new material at a special charity gig for Nordoff-Robbins music therapy centres on May 14.
And she is hoping to get the thumbs-up from old bandmate VICTORIA BECKHAM, who will be watching along with a host of Manchester Utd players.
Emma will be joined by the likes of BLUE, MIS-TEEQ, ATOMIC KITTEN, LIBERTY X, CRAIG DAVID and GIRLS ALOUD at the Manchester Evening News Arena.
Tickets cost £19.50 and are available on 0870 190 8000.
