March 30, 2004 | Updated Emma's Diary @ EBO | -- [From Emma Bunton Official]
Hi from Emma - 29th March 2004
Hi everyone,
I’ve finally had some time off, so I wanted to make sure I dropped you guys a line.
After such a busy spring it’s been nice to have some proper time to chill out.
I have to say I’ve been spoiling myself recently. Hanging out with my nephew Alfie and getting the old beauty treatments in with some of my girls. There’s nothing more fun than a girly get-together and that’s exactly what I had the other week at a club called Aura. Girls, bubbly and dancing is the recipe for a seriously good night out!
Oh and I’ve been redecorating my flat too – it needed a bit of a makeover, so I’ve been doing things like going to Camden to choose new furniture to freshen it up a bit. I’m really impressed with myself!
I’m going to be back doing stuff both here and abroad very soon, Promise!
So, until then...
Lots of love
Emma

March 20, 2004 | Had an accident, Baby? | -- [From The Sun, thanks to RnBJunkie for posting]

BABY SPICE must be living up to her nickname — she seems to have had a little accident.
Poor EMMA BUNTON was spotted with an embarrassing damp patch on her jeans during a night on the pop.
Never mind, Emma, I’m sure it’s not what it looks like and you had simply spilled your drink before my snapper caught you leaving Aqua club in London’s West End.
I know how easily it can happen in a packed club when you’ve had a few — so here’s a suggestion that will fit in nicely with your image.
Use a trainer cup.

March 5, 2004 | Article reguarding the Eurovision programme | -- [Thanks to Robert for posting]
HERE we are with Terry Wogan, Gaby Roslin, Emma Bunton and Sharron Davies at BBC TV Centre for Eurovision, where the immediate question is: “Who’s going to Turkey?”
And the immediate answer is: “Probably all of them.”
A great big 20lb oven-ready TV turkey, with Fame Academy’s giblets shoved up its fundament.
It’s BBC1’s Making Your Mind Up, of course. And a strange beast is this one.
As Song For Europe, it used to be a big deal. Then it stopped being a big deal. And now, purely because we finished with nul points last year, it’s a big deal again.
So it’s bigger, maybe not better — but it’s back with Terry and Gaby. And we all saw just what a winning combination that was on 5.
But we’ll come to them in a moment because this joint is already rockin’ to the beat of wide-eyed Euro wannabes whose pedigree can only be described as Chum.
Haifa from Pop Idol. Haydon from Reborn In The USA. Someone balding from 3SL. And the eventual winner, James (Ron Jovi), from Fame Academy.
A veritable Harlem Globetrotters of crap TV contestants. Supplemented by a boy band called Hyrise, so called ’cos they’re flat. Plus Enrap-ture, a familiar-looking R&B three-piece, who really missed a trick in not calling themselves Mis-taque.
And, with a build-up like that, only on Eurovision could final act Madison Taylor wander on stage wearing a tea-cosy and a straight expression and sing It Just Gets Better. It didn’t, of course. But if the acts were relatively tame then there was the show’s furniture to help things get seriously deranged.
For starters Harry Hill was one of BBC1’s experts. BBC3’s was Peter Schmeichel, who brought to the occasion the gift of goalkeeping metaphors. And, presumably because it was a sinking ship, the regional juries threw in someone who could swim — Sharron Davies.
Comedy moments? 1. Colin Jackson forgets the name of fellow juror Hayley Evetts. 2. Haydon announces he’s on Eurovison because he’s “a pretty cool guy.” (Evidently). And 3. The dancers’ expressions of panic when going for a head-lift on Emma Bunton.
The combined result, though, was — words fail me — s***. But at least Making Your Mind Up was enjoyable s*** — unlike the rest of BBC1’s schedule, which is merely bland.
BBC1 is drowning in safe, day-time bland. Pick up Radio Times, look at BBC1’s schedule and, if you spot more than three things you really want to look at, you’ve picked up Readers’ Wives by mistake.
In fact, it even tried to blandify MYMU by attaching the usual Fame Academy hanger-on Carrie Grant and the pointlessly sycophantic Gaby Roslin, who’s showing signs of wear and tear.
Eurovision’s format, though, is simply too quirky to submit. And Making Your Mind Up had two genuine saving graces.
Firstly, Harry Hill, who provided the biggest laugh when revealing his prediction for the night was: “Vanessa Feltz pregnant by mid-March.”
And secondly, the wry, twinkling genius of Terry Wogan, whose annual Eurovision masterclass should be made compulsory viewing for every shouting idiot presenter (Davina) who thinks they can do irony.
Terry’s next lesson is due on May 15 at the Eurovision Song Contest. But until then BBC1’s schedule will be bland.
NOTE — BBC1 would like to make it clear no heterosexuals were harmed (or used) during the making of this programme.
POP hopefuls, take heart from Emma Bunton — living proof that the number of people it takes to sleep your way to the top is only one. Simon Fuller.
March 4, 2004 | Child's Play | -- [From Emma Bunton Official]
After a hectic time promoting her awesome new album, Free Me, Emma is taking a bit of a well-deserved break over the next few days. She tells us that what she’s really looking forward to is hanging out with her family and spending lots of time with her gorgeous two-year-old nephew, Alfie.
And he’s not the only nipper Emma’s been spending time with - on a recent work trip to LA, Emma managed to hook up with Mel B, who’s based out there now, and had a fantastic time catching up with her and her daughter Phoenix.

March 4, 2004 | EBO update: Emma And Eurovision | -- [From Emma Bunton Official]
Emma had a fantastic time at the weekend, performing on BBC1’s Eurovision - Making Your Mind Up. Ms Bunton was thrilled to be asked to perform one of her favourite 60’s tracks, ‘Puppet On A String’, originally by Eurovision winner, Sandie Shaw. And she’s been even more thrilled to get such an amazing response since the show.
Says Emma, “Eurovision fans are really passionate about the competition and are quite protective of it so I was pretty nervous about doing such an iconic song. But since the show I’ve had a really positive response from Eurovision fans who loved the performance, so I’m really chuffed not to have disappointed anyone. It was just great being up there singing such a classic track. I hope all my fans enjoyed it too.”
