In that time i've only had one very generious and very considerate visitor (Giuseppe Fabbri) who kindly donated $10, thankyou for your kindness and support, this is greatly appreciated by me.

KEEP your eyes on the road, fellas – EMMA BUNTON will be doing her best to distract you. The former Spice Girl will be appearing on a billboard near you soon and she’s leaving little to the imagination.

Emma has ditched the Baby Spice image and shows that she’s all grown up now. She’s stripped off to promote her new album Free Me, out on February 9.

-- [From The Sun]
BABY Spice Emma Bunton dons a raunchy low-cut dress for her latest pop video — and transforms herself into Booby Spice.

Ex-Spice Girl Emma, 28, has enjoyed a string of solo chart successes. And she is clearly hoping her steamy video performance will turn her new single I’ll Be There into a flash hit.

Emma goes for a French feel in the video, which is based on the 1960 black and white movie classic À Bout de Souffle.

"If I've got my legs out, the boobs will go away"
With two top Ten singles from her forthcoming album already under her belt and a third single out this week, Emma Bunton’s busy showing the other Spice Girls how it should be done…

Does it bother you that you don’t always get recognition for your songwriting ability?
Sometimes it does, but everyone has their own opinions and there are only so many times you can say, ‘I write the music’. It would be nice to think that people actually read the album credits because then they’d realise that I wrote most of the songs.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
My last single, Maybe, was inspired by some LPs of music from German porn films, which were given to me by a producer I was working with at the time. They were fantastic, really inspiring - although I should add that they were just soundtracks… no visuals!

Your last couple of singles have been very sixties-influenced. Would you have liked to have grown up in that era?
Definitely, especially from a fashion perspective… all those little dresses and knee-high boots. Ooh, and I love that idea of going out to a disco and everyone doing the same dance routines. It was all so free-spirited and fun back then.

As far as your image is concerned, how much do you rely on ideas from stylists, managers, etc.?
Not very much. I know what I like and what I look good in. Designing is a big thing for me – I generally design my own clothes for the videos, as well as coming up with ideas and concepts… it’s a big part of my career. I like having a go, that’s the main thing.

Does sex help sell records?
Absolutely. Everybody likes to be sexy but I like to be naturally sexy and not too overt. I try to keep it simple and tasteful. I’m one of those girls that if I’ve got my legs out, then the boobs will go away and vice versa!

Does it concern you that most of the other Spice Girls have been dropped from their record labels?
I don’t think you can take that kind of pressure into consideration; you just have to concentrate on doing your best. I’m having a ball at the moment and I try not to think about anything else except doing what I’m passionate about.

What do you think of Victoria’s latest single?
It’s great and I do think she’s come in for some unfair criticism - but that’s always the way with people who are very successful… they make good news.

There’s been a lot of debate about whether or not Pop Idol winner Michelle will have an enduring career. Where do you stand on the issue?
What really bugs me is the fact that back in the day, size was never an issue. Look at Alison Moyet – nobody asked whether or not her career was going to last. I don’t understand it at the moment - there’s so much pressure on people in the public eye to be really thin and I think it’s ridiculous, I really do.

Which five words would you use to describe yourself?
Loyal… my best friend is a girl I’ve known since I was four. Fun. Creative. Positive. And, erm, moody [dissolves into giggles]… I’m awful first thing in the morning, really, really bad.

Do you read your own press cuttings?
Not often. Obviously, I hear things from other people and now and again, I’ll buy the Sunday papers and read them while I’m eating my dinner, but I’m not an avid newspaper reader.

Claudia Pattison

Emma’s new single, I’ll Be There, is released on 26 January. It’s the third single taken from her solo album, Free Me, which hits the record stores on 9 February.

January 25, 2004 | Where theres a Wil Emma [article including info on next vid] |
-- [From Emma Generation]
Theres a bit of friendly rivalry between Emma Bunton and Will Young over who gets the best video locations. Will shot his last video in Australia - so now stablemate Emma's wangled a trip to Rio around carnival time for her next promo.

An insider said: "She made it clear she wanted to go somewhere exotic for her next shoot. "She was jealous Will went to Australia."

Emma's new tune I'll Be There - which she performed on cd:uk - hits shops tomorrow and continues with the kitsch sound shes adopted of late. Not my cup of tea, but at least she's trying new things. Meanwhile she can neveragain be called Baby Spice having turned 28 last week. A pal said: "She celebrated by having friends and family round for dinner."

January 23, 2004 | Thanks From Emma |
-- [From Emma Bunton Official]
Hi everyone
I just had to write today to say thank you for all the lovely messages you’ve sent to wish me Happy Birthday. Thank you, you guys are awesome!!!

I had a lovely day back at home with my mum and my family. It was so nice to chill out and catch up with everyone – especially because it’s all been so mad for the past month. And it doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon!!

There’s so much I’m looking forward to: the new single, the new album… I just hope you love them as much as I do. It’s been such a liberating experience to work with some great producers and experiment with all those cool ‘60s sounds. We’re going to be doing something really special for the album launch, it’s all a bit hush-hush at the moment but it’s going to be fab.

Oh and keep an eye out because I’m heading over to the States next week to do a mini-documentary about ‘60s music for Top Of The Pops and I just can’t wait…

It’s been a totally manic January with absolutely tons of interviews and shoots – one of the coolest was for the Sunday Express recently. Usually on a photo shoot, they lay on some sandwiches but for this one they had a chef who made the best butternut squash soup! It was perfect because I’d been feeling a bit under the weather with a bit of a cold. Look out for the pics too because I got to wear some very cool fashion – Chloe, Stella McCartney, names, names, sweetie!!

Thanks again for all your support, you guys make it all worthwhile!!

Lots of love
Emma x

With Emma’s album, Free Me arriving on 7th February, not only are there lots of opportunities to check Emma in the press and on the TV, but if you live in and around London, look out for some jaw-droppingly hot billboard posters of Ms Bunton gracing the streets from 1st February. Seriously sexy, the shots were taken for the album campaign last year in Nice in the south of France…

January 17, 2004 | 'Maybe' Live @ T4 M2V |
--
This trial has finished and the video below is no longer avaliable to d/l.
I've uploaded Emma's performance of 'Maybe' live @ T4 (12-10-03) m2v to EmmaNews. Instead of protecting the video with the anti-leech plug-in like i normally would do i'm going to trial something different this time, this time i'm going to password protect the file and anyone interested in downloading the file will need to post their email address in the Emma Forum topic 'Download 'Maybe' (T4 12-01-04) m2v at DenDen Forums and i'll then email them the username and password required to download the video.

Now as i'm only trialing this i'm only allowing 65 downloads this time (which will require about 4gb bandwidth) so only the first 65 email address posted by people will get the username / password. If this trial is successful and there's no abuse i'll probably try and upload a new mpg or m2v each week or so and will allow around 100 downloads instead (which will be password protected of course).

Please Note: there is only 1 rule, under no circumstances post or share the username / password anywhere or with anyone, if this rule is broken the video will be deleted immediately and i'll never do this again and all future downloads will be protected by the anti-leech plug-in.

* Right click and 'Save Target As' to Download -- 'Maybe' Live @ T4 (12-10-03) m2v (62.98 mb)

January 17, 2004 | 'IBT' Review The Sun |
--
Meet Emma: As Baby in the Spice Girls, Emma Bunton was part of one of the most successful girl groups of all time. Her solo career is doing well too – the stunning blonde scored two Top 10 hits in 2003 and is set for more success with new single I'll Be There and album Free Me.

On the Jukebox: We've got the video I'll Be There for you to watch and it's every man's dream – sexy Emma in Paris! The video is influenced by the classic 1960s movie Au Bout De Souffle, which was remade as Breathless in the 1980s starring Richard Gere.

The track appears on Emma's new album Free Me, which also features her hit single of the same name and Crickets Sing For Annamaria - the Brazilian classic featured on the Christmas Day edition of Parkinson. What she says: "With this album, the sound is very different to anything that's out there at the moment. "It has a real 60's influence and feel like I've captured my own sound. I've worked really hard and I hope people enjoy it."
